Let us reminisce: part one

With the Yankees starring up at Boston and Tampa Bay -- 8.5 games out of first place -- a Yankee fan like myself can only wonder "what the hell?"

Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy are a combined 0-7 with 9.00 and 7.41 era respectively. So much for the youngsters stepping up and carrying the rotation.

Bobby Abreu, Johnny Damon, and Robinson Cano have been up and down through the first few months of the season with the bat; and, then when Damon comes around he heads to the DL.

Speaking of the DL, Wang, A-Rod, Matsui, Damon and Posada four key parts to the Bronx Bombers offense have seen time or are currently seeing time on the sideline.

Now that A-Rod is in the beginning of a Hollywood divorce trial the Yankees will be getting attention in all the wrong ways.

Don't get me wrong -- I have not given up on this season -- in fact I think the Yankees could make push all the way up to the top if their bats can come alive.

However, one day the streak of thirteen consecutive years in the playoffs will have to end (get the tissues ready) but not now, not if I have anything to say about it.

In the famous words Bluto Blutarsky from Animal House, "Over? did you say over? Nothing is over till we decide it is!"

So to keep the spirits of Yankee Nation afloat I have come across some old videos that will bring a smile to your face, a tear to your eye, and make you stand on your chair and yell "LET'S GO YANKEES!"

Part one features Paul "The Warrior" O'Neills final game in Yankee stadium. The quality isn't HD so my apolgies, sit back and enjoy part one of the "Let us reminisce" series.
